MyCollegeCalendar's first priority is the satisfaction
of our users. The Advisory Board is a critical element in ensuring
that we are listening to our user's needs, understanding their challenges
and pain-points, and using their feedback to improve our systems and processes,
add valuable functionality and enhance our comprehensive range of services.
The AB meets regularly with senior members of MyCollegeCalendar's executive
team to share best practices and perspectives in a practical and constructive
roundtable debate.

Dottie Sterling
Dottie Sterling, chair of MyCollegeCalendar's Advisory
Board, is founder and CEO of The Kalendarium, a college admission consulting
firm and former publisher of Sterling's College
Admission Survival Guide. Located in
Northern California, the firm counsels students and parents
in all aspects of the college admission process.
Since 1992 she has been a student mentor, counselor and instructional
aid and for the past nine years she has actively mentored, guided and
personally directed hundreds of high school students and parents through
the college admission process. In the private sector, she has created
more than 350 mentoring relationships between volunteer adults and students.
In 1997 she received the California Lutheran University Humanitarian
Service Award for distinguished service to human welfare and social reform.
She earned her BS degree from California Lutheran University.
Kurt Gillis
Kurt Gillis is an entrepreneur with more than 30 years experience building
companies and working in business development, direct marketing,
product development, public relations, sales and promotions.
Kurt successfully founded and sold three businesses, Expense Reduction
Services Inc., Shade Optics, Inc., and Private Fitness, Inc. He has co-founded
and consulted for multiple start-ups and organizations and has held executive
management positions with a variety of Fortune 500 companies. Kurt enjoys
assisting start-up companies in business development, sales, partnering,
relationship building, and business conceptual build-out. Kurt is currently
Director of Strategic Consulting for a global business process,
software and IT consulting organization. He currently has children in college
and high school so he's passionate about advising MyCollegeCalendar
in its sales and marketing efforts. He earned his BA in economics from
Hartwick College.
Mary Sadeghy
Mary Sadeghy is an award winning strategic consumer marketer with over 20 years
experience working on global brands. She has a successful track record in Fortune
100 and entrepreneurial companies. Most recently she served as Senior Director,
Marketing at Disney Store North America where she was head of business marketing
and public relations. Prior to joining Disney Store, she was the head of marketing
at the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation where she was responsible for all
of the Foundation’s marketing initiatives including branding, advertising,
public relations and online marketing. Her efforts there earned her six
separate national marketing awards, including an Addy, an American Marketing
Association award, as well as a PRSA award. Before joining the Foundation,
Ms. Sadeghy held various global marketing and sales positions at Lucasfilm,
Ltd, Women.com, Gap, Inc. and Scholastic, Inc., and spent the early part of
her career at Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures. She earned her MBA
with honors from New York University, London School of Economics and HEC Paris,
and her B.S. in communications from Boston University, cum laude. She has also
spoken at numerous industry events as an expert in women’s and kid’s
marketing.
