MyCollegeCalendar leverages the latest in Web 2.0 technologies.  Built on top of version 2.0 of the Microsoft.NET framework with a SQL back end, MyCollegeCalendar also leverages AJAX functionality via the jQuery tools. Security is maintained through a combination of SQL security features, Microsoft.NET security features, and custom built security algorithms.

It means we have a powerful, scalable and secure application that can deliver robust services to our members, we can grow easily and quickly, and we can add new and exciting applications all the time. Best of all we can connect to any potential partner we meet out on the web allowing us to deliver value to our partner's users as much as our own. Why is that important? We want to help as many students and parents as possible so the best way to do that is make it easy for others to connect to us!

We Break up the Process into Pieces
MyCollegeCalendar's process is rather easy despite how complicated and often confusing the college admission process can be. The simple idea behind MyCollegeCalendar is to lay out, in an easy to follow step-by-step method, all the recommended tasks needed for students and parents to get through the college admission experience successfully. We divide these tasks into six general areas:

You Build It
Within each of the six primary task categories there are dozens of task sub-topics a member can select and import into their schedule. Now we don't expect our members to use our entire process from beginning to end, many of our members do and that's great, but the fact is, many members just select and use the processes they need the most help with. So we've created a platform that allows our members to select which aspects of the admission process they feel they need the most assistance with. By creating user driven task manager functionality we provide our members with task options that are relevant to them. A member's calendar and task manager is populated with those tasks they've selected, the content related to those tasks and the timeline by which they need to perform those tasks to be successful in the admission process.

You Personalize It
MyCollegeCalendar's platform is customizable to allow users to add their own tasks, their own deadlines and create their own admission schedules outside of our baseline recommended steps. This is extremely important for critical dates a user defines and schedules, such as campus visits, admission interviews, counselor meetings, local and regional scholarship application deadlines, and many more important events. To provide members with the ability to add their own critical deadlines and tasks, MyCollegeCalendar blends time-proven admission schedules with a member's time-sensitive personal events.

You Manage It
MyCollegeCalendar's platform allows members to manage and monitor their own college admission process without the need for outside college admission consultation and management. Our process is used by thousands of counselors and admission consultants nationwide. Students, parents and educators can easily see what admission requirements they need to perform, the relevant resources on how to perform those requirements, and when to complete the required tasks. Parents can easily see where their student is at with the process. And because MyCollegeCalendar is based in a calendar format, the element of procrastination is easily curbed and there is simply no excuse for not getting the job done!

You Track It
MyCollegeCalendar's platform allows members to upload up to ten colleges and universities nationwide into their personal calendar and task manager. This is extremely helpful for the college specific requirements most schools have in addition to the baseline admission processes all students and parents must complete. MyCollegeCalendar offers a school specific tracker that details deadlines, specific school application requirements, requirements by major, required forms and documentation and much more. Students simply select the colleges and universities they want to apply to and all the relevant tasks, documentation and requirements are automatically uploaded into the user's calendar and task manager. Then it's simply a matter of following the steps outlined and meeting the school specific deadlines.
