Search Engines to Find Your "Best Fit" Colleges and Universities

To complete online college and university searches, sit with your parent(s) or guardian(s) and answer multiple-choice questions on the search engines listed below (links are provided).  Narrow your selection of preferred colleges and universities to 10 or 12 schools; this should take 1-to-2 hours to complete.

1. Go to MyCollegeCalendar
All colleges and universities throughout the United States are organized by state, allowing you to research the websites of the specific schools you're interested in.  Use MyCollegeCalendar.org to search for things like college and university admissions, student life, academics and course schedules, etc.  Choose your state and start researching all the schools in that region.

2. Go to College Finder

Answer the questions presented on Type of school, Location, Setting, Size, Academics, Cost, Campus Life, and Student Body. While answering questions, if you would like an explanation or details regarding the questions, click on "Switch Mode: To Matching Wizard".

Click on "Results".

Review the list of colleges matching your answers. Click the "Campus Tour" square to see data about each school.

3. Go to College Navigator

Answer the questions shown in the far left column. Click on "MORE SEARCH OPTIONS" to answer detailed questions to further narrow your college search.

Review the list of colleges matching your answers. Click the name of each school on the list to show details about each school.
