ROTC scholarships and programs are offered by the Army, Air
Force, Navy and
Marine Corps. ROTC scholarships can be as much as a full-ride
scholarship, paying 100% of college tuition, housing, and miscellaneous
expenses. As an ROTC cadet, when you graduate college you will
earn the rank as Second Lieutenant and will be ready to start your
military career.
ROTC scholarships are awarded to high school students based on merit. The
primary student qualifications considered for awarding scholarships include:
High school academic achievement
Standardized test scores (ACT® or SAT®)
Extracurricular activities
Personal interview(s)
ROTC programs require college students to:
Take a minimum of 12 semester course units.
Take military science courses (as part of student’s college curriculum)
which provide training as a military office.
Wear military uniforms one day per week during practical training activities
(such as drills, military labs, and military science classes).
Participate in ROTC summer programs.
To apply for ROTC scholarships, you must complete online applications,
send SAT® or ACT® scores directly to ROTC scholarship programs,
and apply to at least 3 ROTC affiliated colleges. The braches of
military recommend you apply to at least 3 ROTC affiliated colleges by
November 1, 2008 and submit online ROTC scholarship applications by:
Air Force – December 1, 2008
Army – January 10, 2009
Navy – January 20, 2009
