Apply as Early as Possible

Don’t be late - apply for financial aid as soon as possible.  This is a very strong recommendation because campus-based scholarships and grants are awarded by colleges on a first-come, first-serve basis from dedicated “pools” of money.  If you apply late, you may be eligible for thousands of dollars, but all the money has been awarded to students who have already submitted their applications.  Apply as early as possible before the “pools” are empty.
