Get Started - On-Campus Student Jobs
Follow MyCollegeCalendar's recommended step-by-step tasks to preparing and applying to on-campus student jobs. The tasks are listed in chronologic order.

College Enrollment Prep
Fulfill all requests from your college without delay (complete forms, send information, answer questions, etc.).

Budget for College Year
Work with your parents to make a budget plan for next year. Review the results from the Cost / Financial Aid Comparison Spreadsheet to see how much you and your family are expected to pay from cash and loans.

Arrange for Student Loans
After calculating how much money is needed to cover the cost of college and miscellaneous expenses, decide if you and your parents need to arrange for a student loan.

Pre-Enrollment Tasks to Learn
There are some basic tasks you should learn BEFORE you go to college.

Items to Take to College
A practical list of items and supplies all students and parents should consider prior to moving on campus.

On-Campus Jobs
Many college freshmen obtain an on-campus job (including Federal Work Study jobs) to earn money to pay college expenses or for extra spending cash.

Move-In Day
Make a list of things to do when you arrive on campus as an incoming student. Each college and university is different, however, this is a list of activities and tasks you should be expected to complete.

Advice for College Freshmen
An entire new life experience awaits you in college. It’s important to begin your college career right. Here a few tips for incoming college freshman.

Property Insurance
Students who maintain legal residence with their parents may be covered by their family’s homeowners’ policy for loss of personal property while living in college residence halls; ask your family’s insurance agent if you’re covered under your current policy.

Student Credit Card
You should set up a credit card in your name with a local bank or major credit card company. A credit card is handy for covering some expenses while waiting for money from your job or parents and makes it easy to purchase online items such as airline tickets.

Banking-Students
You should set up accounts (checking and savings) at a bank local to your college. Your accounts should be at the same bank that owns the on-campus ATM so you won’t be charged a service fee for using the ATM. Also, sign up for online banking.
