Plan Next Year’s Extracurricular Activities.
Plan to make a great impression in organizations you join next year. Do
whatever it takes to make a positive impact. However, don’t
spread yourself too thin; devote yourself to two, three or four extracurricular
activities in which you can be outstanding. Colleges
and universities place greater importance on the depth of student commitment
in a few extracurricular activities than on simple membership in numerous
different clubs.
Be sure to participate in all activities you sign up for – people
writing recommendations must know you’re participating and contributing
to organizations, not just signing up for clubs to enhance your college
applications.
Be a leader
in a few extracurricular activities
this coming school year – lead a team, be an officer in a club
or organization, start your own project, or run for a class office.
Leadership experience is one of the most highly prized student qualifications
sought by college admission officers. |
