FAFSA Assistance

The Federal Student Aid Information Center can answer questions about the FAFSA process.  Call 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) between 8 a.m. and midnight (Eastern Time), seven days a week.  TTY users may call 800-730-8913 with any federal student aid questions.  Information specialists at these numbers can:

1. Assist you in completing the FAFSA.
2. Assist you in making corrections to your Student Aid Report (SAR).
3. Tell you whether a school participates in federal student aid programs.
4. Explain federal student aid eligibility requirements.
5. Explain the process of determining financial need and awarding aid.
6. Have your application information sent to a specific school.
7. Send federal student aid publications to you.
8. Send you a copy of your SAR.

You may use an automated response system at the above numbers to find out if your FAFSA has been processed.

You can also write to the Federal Student Aid Information Center at the following address:

P.O. Box 84
Washington, DC  20044-0084

Additionally, if you have trouble with technical aspects of the online FAFSA (such as why it’s not working on your computer – not if you’re having trouble understanding the questions on the form or what answers to give), you can send an e-mail to get your questions answered at FAFSA E-mail questions or chat online live with a FAFSA assistant (to chat live online, click on small underlined blue letters, “Live Help” in the page center).
