College Application Options
There are three different options for completing college applications:
Common Application
Universal Application
Individual College Applications
The Common Application is accepted by 341 colleges and universities. The
advantage of the “Common App” is one application can be submitted
to each Common Application school, allowing students to save an enormous
amount of time and effort. Each school charges a separate application
fee and may require an additional 1- or 2-page supplemental form. The
Common Application can be submitted online or as a printed paper application.
The Universal Application is accepted by 57 colleges and universities. The
Universal Application, like the Common Application, allows students to
submit one application for all member schools.
Applications from individual colleges and universities are available
on each school’s website. Read application instructions for
information specific to each school’s application process. |
