Final Campus Visits

Still not sure about which college is your favorite?  Visit the colleges and universities you’ve been accepted to one more time.  You must be sure that you will fit in and be happy at the college where you choose to spend four years of your life.  Take another campus tour or just go on campus and wander around – talk with students and professors.  If you want to spend the night in the student dorms, contact the college admissions office and arrange for an overnight stay.

This will be your final visit to each college.  You should be visiting only the colleges you are seriously considering attending.  Evaluate the campus atmosphere and social life and get a “feel” for the overall campus.  Ask yourself, “Will I be happy here as a student for the next four years?”

When you return home, talk over your experiences with your parents, teachers and friends.  At this point in time, you know the campuses you visited have the things you’re looking for in a college, so now is the time to look inside yourself and see what your “gut feeling” is for each college.  Write down your thoughts, evaluate your information, and wait for each college’s financial aid award letter to arrive by E-mail or U.S. Mail in late March-early April.
