Overnight Stay Activities

Things to do during your overnight stay:

-  Check out all college and university freshman dorms (residence halls). Remember, you'll have to choose one of the dorms to live in next year if you decide to attend that college. Tour each dorm and ask lots of questions; prioritize your preference of dorms.

-  Talk with students from each dorm. Ask lots of questions about the living conditions and student likes and dislikes.  Hang out with your host and his/her friends in the dorm.
Check out common areas of the dorms. How are students behaving and what are the topics of conversation?

-  Check out the bathroom and shower situation. If bathrooms are shared by all students on the dorm floor, does it bother you?  If the bathrooms are shared between four student roommates, are you okay with sharing a bathroom with three other people?

-  Inspect the student center. Does it look like a place where you'll want to hang out next year?

-  Eat in the dining hall.

-  Read the student newspaper (or take one home with you to read later).

-  Sit in on a class (if you can).

-  Attend a campus-wide activity, such as a theater play, sports game, or lecture.

-  Scope-out the campus thoroughly.
